Is it just me or do you hear a symphony?

They might not be household names you’ve ever heard. But if you’ve lived more than a couple of decades, you’ve probably heard them. And is it just me, or do those old Motown songs still make you wanna dance, too? Yeah, just play the first few bars of “I’ll Be There” and watch out. Feet don’t fail me now. And that’s just one of the awesome songs by Lamont Dozier and Brian and Eddie Holland. And is it just me, ’cause I gotta say You Keep Me Hangin’ On OK, I’ll stop with the musical puns. But it’s amazing how many of the best known Motown hits were written by that songwriting trio. 25 number 1 hits. Wow. Not many can say that. And that brings me to why I’m bringing it up today. Because The Supremes recorded a song by Dozier and the Holland brothers called “I Hear A Symphony.” And on this day (November 20), back in 1965, it went to number 1 on the U.S. charts. Coincidentally, they had another number 1 hit with “You Keep Me Hangin On” exactly a year later.
