Is It The Mid Week, Already? Discussing AfroPunk & More! This Wed @7:30pm

from Afronerd Radio · host Afronerd Radio

What's shaking, folks!  Unfortunately, we preeempted this past Saturday's Grindhouse show but it was for a VERY good reason-The Afropunk Festival! Join Captain Kirk, Dburt and a special appearance from the Uncanny Daryll B., this Wednesday at 7:30pm.  The topics to be unpacked are:  the Afropunk highlights, of course; our thoughts on the Floyd Mayweather vs 50 cent feud. Is illiteracy ever funny?; in the latest in minstrel news, the co-founder and former CEO of Death Row Records, Suge Knight was shot multiple times while attending a Chris Brown VMA party; can the sudden popularity of Little League World Series phenom, Mo'ne Davis herald the return of Blacks to the sport of baseball?; Dburt waxes about a recent Sirius-XM townhall about Black men that still got it wrong; was the NY Times out of line for refering to slain teen, Michael Brown as being "no angel?" ;  and speaking of media depictions, does the #iftheygunnedmedown social media campaign make a legitimate point about the Black vs White victim portrayals?; a Time article posits that the animal mind is more compex than one would think and that they may getting smarter (as we humans appear to be lowering the cognitive bar); is Hercules' Kevin Sorbo racist (or like the preceding animal mind reference....was his rant more complex?); and lastly, is it possible that Fox's Megyn Kelly actually got it right when discussing White privilege with her colleague, Bill O'reilly?  Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.
