The body can hold onto so many emotions and feelings. If it doesn’t have an outlet, it begins leaking in unexpected and sometimes painful places. Like a juice detox, the body is able to see more clearly and process the emotions that might be unconsciously hurting you when the emotional path is clear. What are some signs you need an emotional detox? The first sign is that you might be chronically stressed. Stress is a silent killer to our immune system and it can halt our nervous system from fighting against disease. You might think that stress is normal, and it is, but it should not be at chronic levels. How do you practice an emotional detox? You first need to know what emotions you are feeling. If you’re so used to suppressing them, even calling out the simplest ones like being grumpy, sad, or happy, can be an unfamiliar endeavor. Sometimes the thought of doing this exercise can make us feel afraid or unsure if we’ll be able to get through it or complete this detox. This is where support and guidance can play a big part in hand-holding you through this unfamiliar journey.
