Meta launched Edits, a mobile video editing app for iOS and Android, targeting creators and business users and competing with ByteDance’s CapCut. Edits integrates with Instagram accounts and offers features such as green screen, timeline editing, frame rate selection, automatic captions, an audio library, AI-powered animation, and a teleprompter. The app includes tabs for ideas, inspiration, project management, recording, and performance insights. Edits is currently free, mobile-only, and has fewer advanced features and a smaller music library than CapCut, which offers a paid subscription and web access.
