Is Name-Calling Really That Bad? - Ep. 40

Somewhere along the way, folks decided the most Christian thing you can do is police somebody's tone. Sounds holy. Gets applause in the right rooms. But sounding brave and being biblical are two different things entirely. I've spent decades teaching, counseling, and crying with close to 10,000 kids and families. The things that actually shatter lives aren't only sharp tongues. They're knives, fists, needles, bottles, abuse, trafficking, and abandonment. Words matter (Proverbs 18:21, Matthew 12:36). No argument there. But the Bible doesn't treat every sin as equal in damage or judgment, and Jesus saved His thunder for hypocrites (Matthew 23). So we're talking about Romans 13, which didn't vanish under the last administration. We're talking about half-quotes that strip context to score points, why God hates a lying tongue (Proverbs 6:16-19), and why compassion without truth is just cowardice wearing perfume. Christianity isn't a vibe. It's submission to Christ and to truth, even when it goes against your tribe. If that makes things awkward, good. Say something.
