Is Radiohead's OK COMPUTER the BEST ALBUM of the 90's, or the BEST EVER? + SPARKLEHORSE (2FGA #13)

🎙️ Welcome to Two Fat Guys and an Album…the only fat guys podcast that matters! 🎧🎸 This week, Mike Blackburn and Maestro Brek Hufnus dive deep into Radiohead’s 1997 masterpiece OK Computer 🖥️🎹—a record that didn’t just shape alternative rock, it redefined it. Dark, cinematic, and eerily prophetic, OK Computer is full of moody soundscapes, existential dread 😱, and warnings about technology 🤖 and alienation that still ring true today. From the chaos of Paranoid Android 🌪 to the melancholy beauty of No Surprises 🌸, this album remains one of the defining works of the late ‘90s. But the journey doesn’t stop there. In Beyond Classic Rock, the guys shine a light on Sparklehorse’s 2001 gem It’s a Wonderful Life 🎇🐴. With its fragile beauty, raw emotion, and dreamlike lo-fi textures, Mark Linkous’s haunting masterpiece is every bit as soul-stirring as its title suggests. Songs like Gold Day and Comfort Me balance intimacy with surreal wonder, cementing Sparklehorse as one of indie rock’s great poetic voices. So strap in 🎤🌌—Mike and Brek are taking you through the sonic landscapes of Radiohead and Sparklehorse in a conversation full of passion, analysis, and love for the music.
