This is the place where sportsman is a lot of Dennis for some of your host, Kenneth Bien, joining me on the show. We have Spike, FIFO and Shelton. What up? What up?
What's happening? Joining, Joining, Chillin, it is a holiday week. So people are in and out. Nick is one of those.
I heard Spike that he was going to audition for a role in Alex Cross. Second season. That's what I was going to do. He was going to play a what would Nick play?
He would play like one of the FBI agents or something. I said, he's funny. Nick would definitely play FBI agents. Alex Cross.
Yeah. All right. So we got to go ahead and jump right into the show with news that we need to jump into. The Colorado buffaloes and the Alabama Crimson Tides could have both secure conference title appearances with the win on Saturday.
But instead fucked up the church's money. Both received a harsh defeat. Colorado lost on the road to Kansas losing team Kansas. 37 21, 37 21 and Alabama failed to Oklahoma 24 to three.
Mmm. Chillin, which loss was more embarrassing Alabama or Kansas or Colorado? You sound too happy about it. Can't first of all, I mean, Colorado.
Do I? Yeah. Yeah. But the more embarrassing loss of the two, in my opinion, was the Alabama loss.
You look at a team like Alabama traveling to Oklahoma and both both teams were expected to win, but the way Alabama lost 24 to three and the way their star quarterback looked, which was my guy, Jalamiro, was very disappointed to watch none to say the least. He played a horrible, horrible game and I expected him to step up big in that game. And he didn't get it done. Um, I look at them as being in a more perilous situation than I do Colorado because nobody expects Colorado to be here anyway.
So I look at the Alabama loss and the way they lost. And the way they got beat down is worse than anything else, but they both were bad to put it in to put it in. People, you don't follow much football, a colorful ball. I know, but just based on what you heard, I mean, you got Colorado with the chain I win and especially with BYU losing.
I mean, they are in the title game and damn near sure the spot in the college football playoffs, Alabama was fighting the way in, but you know the program, you know, you know, to pedigree. If you lose this way, you know, I've always said that, you know, that's kind of the situation. Again, I'm surprised that Colorado lost. You know, you know, all I had to do was run the table and there were points to it.
It's not like, you know, this was a team that we didn't know what they were made of. They definitely put it together in season. And I definitely thought their destiny was the playoffs because, you know, Mickey's talking about the stats and wins and losses for Shadoor. The only thing that would elevate Shadoor even more is getting to the playoffs and have it to the game or to, you know what I'm saying?
Now you're not going to have that opportunity to go to a ball, but it is what it is. Um, is disappointing because this, this, this, this would have felt like a good indication for D on like I told you, but now it's kind of like, well, you know, we're better than last year. Spiked. Yeah.
God, you got it. You got it. Man. So two things.
Kansas is a better football team of Colorado. They have better players like going into the season. Kansas was ranked. You see that?
Yeah. They, they, they, they have better football team. And I always say that to say Colorado should have still won their game based on where we are in the season, but me and you were talking Kansas beat three straight ranked teams. They were supposed to be good.
Something just happened at the beginning of the season. They put in and now they're getting their stride. So talk game of Colorado. What's one acceptable, in my opinion, is Alabama.
With the chance to go to the SEC title game, losing to a brand new SEC member Oklahoma. And then we're talking about the SEC thinking that they're the most dominant conference in football and you have Georgia and Tennessee in the playoffs. Like no Ole Miss, no Alabama. Like you would think that this was people were talking about when you first started the football playoff that it was going to be SEC heavy and it's going to be big 10 heavy and that was only people going to be in there.
And now we're at the point of season where Alabama can't get the job doing. We got one SEC team in the playoffs. So I think the most, the bad losses of Alabama, 100 percent, like the and the guys coming out to save them too. Bro, this is the only year you get to do that.
You pick the first year. So now you got to be damned and perfect for the next four or five years in order to keep your job. So terrible loss for him. Oklahoma, I don't even feel like it's a good football team versus why I say Kansas is a better football team in Colorado, especially of recent.
So this was disgraceful by Alabama. It should do it was 21 to 29. So he should give it a job. Yeah, three touchdowns.
So in Travis, they would traverse those. So you'll start step up. I look at Jamie. It broke.
Yeah, they did it was so dirty. Yeah. Yeah. They did it was so dirty.
And they've had the montage of him not getting those quarterback calls to kid. I don't know what you called him. I'm not a fan of the fish and cruise. Like he should do it all.
It's disgusting. Yep. Um, Mm. Look, I think what I heard, well, a couple of things here real quick.
I told you guys, because people accused a spike of cherry picking, which Colorado games we covered. And I said, I have been busy all of the last couple of Saturday. So I have not been able to cover the Colorado games like I would have preferred, including this Saturday, as I was putting together, I was remodeling the closet. But oh, man, y'all know, I wanted to jump on this so bad.
I can get done till around 11 or 12 at night. Oh, man, I started to take a break, but I knew I couldn't do it. Um, but because, you know, hey, busy is busy, right? And I knew we were talking about it today.
And I knew DJ of 86. He's been talking a lot of shit for the last couple of weeks. He's been a proud Colorado buffalo fan. A lot of them had a lot to say, you know, um, and it's cool.
But man, Kansas was one and five. They were awful. Yeah, I don't do that. Can they were awful?
They were awful. They were supposed to be good, but they were not good. Spike, that was the issue. Yes, this is their third ranked team.
And my thing is what I heard out of everything you say is, like, because I don't necessarily just read anything you said. But the most important takeaway I took was that Colorado can't be good teams. That's what I heard. That's what I heard you say.
You know, you say anything else. But here's the team that they got molly whoop and ran up and down the field. In all honesty, because my watch kept going off and I was getting updates on the game. I saw cows here.
They got to throw for 500 yards. And, you know, next day, they were going to play in the two V bowl. If they lose BYU was the game I was watching before I got started. And I was like, yo, Colorado or wind, because I didn't think they were going to lose this game with Colorado play BYU.
They were going to mop the floor with them boys. They just a little too. Um, it's a lot of cream. It's a lot of.
Yeah. Um, so yeah, yeah, so I was like, uh, there's no way they're going to get, they're going to destroy them boys and never happen. Never came to pass. And that's unfortunate for the, uh, but I think that they still have an outside chance.
Um, you know, because anything that happened, you know, these teams are heading them can lose and they could get another shot at a, at if they win and they should win. They should be Oklahoma State wherever they play. So I think they'll, it's a possibility for them to win. Uh, Alabama is definitely more embarrassing because I, when I saw that, I was like, did somebody get hurt?
Yeah. I was just going to say right now for the 12 conference standings, you got Arizona State at 62, Iowa State at 62 BYU at 62 and Colorado fourth at 62. So I think some things will happen. Like you said, Arizona State at 62, Iowa State at NYU at 62 and Colorado fourth at 62.
I have to lose one. I could play them in the championship game and beat them. Who does Arizona State play? I will pull it up, but Arizona State is in the playoff right now.
That's the big 12 representative. Cause I think one of those teams played play, I think we, you got to easy match up. I think they play Houston. Uh, they should win that game.
Um, they play Arizona. So it's a rivalry game. Hmm. They could lose that game.
They call you can lose. And Kansas State is the other one. Yeah, they can lose too. Cause I don't care what the rank is saying.
It's Iowa State. I would say, yeah, Iowa State moves too. Uh, but now I mean, it's unfortunate that it happened. I think I liked what Deanna said after the game when he told him, when he basically customata said that they just, you know, they were filling themselves.
You know, they got the big hit. You know, they thought they were better than what they really were. And that was one of the things I said, like we haven't seen the play, you know, a real competition, they're beating the teams that they should be. Um, that's what they've done all this year.
And Kansas was another one. They should have beaten. But as the updates were coming in, I just knew that Colorado were, they were going to come back and win that game. You get it with them 21, 20.
I mean, that game was right there for the taking. So, um, but you know, it is what it is. And we'll see what happened this week, but I don't know, man, I just, we'll see. I got a feeling I got a feeling something to happen and break their way.
But, um, but yeah, man, that's something. Cause they, I'm sure they don't want Arizona State in there. I don't even, you know, I'm sure they would prefer a better big 12 champion, but they're also saying two lane may knock the big 12 out altogether. How was that?
Because in the, in the rankings of the college football rankings, Arizona State is 16. And that puts them at that number 16 slot in the bracket. If Arizona State loses. And two lane wins out.
There's a possibility that two lane may get in over a big 12 team. Whoever even if it's Colorado, but I doubt if Colorado does it, they'll pick two lane on Colorado, but they're saying if it's Arizona State, the two lane could possibly be picked over them. So there you go with the Colorado has more popularity. Like the big, the, the just that it is the big 12 isn't a good football conference.
And the beyond maybe dominant in a couple of years, if you stay, there's no games in the big 12, you have no games in the big 12. There are no games in the big 12. Anyway, um, but, um, overall, uh, that'll be in the ball game. And I know the rate is going to be crazy for that.
Uh, so we'll see what happens, but ship, uh, not should do it, but, um, because nobody's even really talking about him. Uh, everything's about Hunter. And I think, uh, that I think he's going to get the Heisman. So it's him, Gente, let's do a Heisman update.
Then we will want to some NFL Heisman odds. Uh, let's see. Let's go and get to you and, uh, quarterback from Oregon, Oregon, going to Gabriel and Cam Ward is back in it, which is crazy. So he deserves to be, he's had a good year other than that.
But so does he deserve to be though? He does. I mean, you can, you know, there to be in the top three, but he deserves to be in the top five. Yes.
He third right now. Give Gabriel for. Okay. I don't have a problem with that.
He's been a press of all year. He would be needing if he'd have that bad loss. I think he probably would have had a chance to win it. Yeah.
That's right. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. What's up?
But I mean, all these, these teams, you know, this year have some, some not to them. So I ain't nobody just running the gamut no more. You'll see a lot more parody and football you ever had before. Well, yeah, especially with this transfer reporter, this is wrecking havoc.
I mean, you're talking about, I mean, too lame, bro. Like, well, I think that's just because normally when you, when you have college football, you really don't, at least for me, I don't look past the top 10 and I barely get to 10. Because I really don't care. Never really matter.
Who team was unless it was like really like one lost teams and, you know, teams with no losses and one loss really trying to fight for their life to get a shot at the four play off. Because whatever they were. So now it added value to all these teams all the way down to 15 and 16. So what's going to end up happening?
We're probably going to find out that these teams really aren't as good as they are. They've been screaming and begging to be included, you know, and this is and now they're going to get Molly Wopton. They're going to look at redoing the state or the money's going to keep going. Here's the question I have for you guys.
I'm looking at I'm on Potsports.com and this was updated as 41 minutes ago. And on this 2024 Heisman charts here, we have four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, two, 11, 12, 13 15 16 players are listed on here. Not one of them is named Schuder Sanders. Why is that?
Because you had to pick just just like in any other situation, you look at in the NFL, you got Derek Henry and Lamar Jackson on the same team. You have Sequan Barkley, Taylor Hertz. These two you go and pick between the more dominant one and he's going to get all those votes. So all of the attention is going to go towards that one player as opposed to picking both.
And the school has to get behind that one too. Otherwise you're going to split that vote and you don't want that you want to clear cut one. And Travis Travers separates himself more so than should do it does from the Campbell or to the other guys like that. So that's why.
Would be true if I wasn't looking at two players moments out of those 16 earlier, Jackson Darrin, Trey Harris. But see, neither one of them really have a chance at that award like that. Well, Colorado and some of these schools, because you run a campaign to win a Heisman. It's not just based off your play.
Your school basically has to put you on a pedestal to kind of push you into that spot. Like put money behind you and advertise and everything else behind you for you to win that award. So Colorado is, you know, as they should, they put their money on Travis. Like we're going to put all our energy and focus on getting the spotlight on him.
Because if you put both, they take away from each other. It's too much to a school like Mississippi benefits them. But who's going to do both because they want more exposure? It's for Colorado.
They got exposure. They just need to check. They need to hide. So the best way to win that award is to put it all behind Travis.
And if a player like Travis, win the Heisman, that's where everybody is going to want to go. So that's really the smart thing to do is put the put your money on the horse that you know is going to win this race and not try to have too many horses in that race when you're that high up. I don't think should do a one enough games last year. And when you were a quarter, that's about winning the losses.
Like you've been saying on season, Ken. So I think he would have been in it if they had one enough games that just did not and a hunter of course is more popular choice to some of the things that we're sharing with saying. And I don't think that they like to do as attitude. Like I don't think the writers and the people that will vote for that stuff in pre-season.
They don't like the watch thing. They don't like that he's as brash as his dad. Like of course, we know the dog whistle and it comes with that. But that offends some of the writers and stuff.
And I think that's why I think that's why it would too. And with and also with quarterbacks wins and losses in a war like that matters more than it does for like a skilled position. If you type a guy, a skilled position guy, their record doesn't matter as much as it does for a quarterback. Because that's the first thing you look at when you look at your door is the fact that he got those losses on his record.
And it's hard to stack that up against the one lost can more or you know, looking at some of the guys like Bill Gabriel, people like that. It's hard to stack a should do up against these guys. I think y'all need to look at this list because I'm talking about 16 players and not one is named Shador. We're talking about a guy named Eli Holston from Pittsburgh.
You know, Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Panthers, they are seven and four. Ole Miss has two players on there that are and they are eight and three. They have some DJ getting's from Kansas. Okay.
I know it was Jaylin Millrose along here, but whatever, you know, he plays at the SEC. So I get that. So you don't care. That was like, hey, I'm trying to figure out.
Why? If he's supposed to be the guy, I'm trying to understand, get some logic behind this whole thing. Rocko Beck from Iowa State, of course, they have a good record. And he's so I understand that one.
Yeah. But I don't know. I guess my thing is I would expect him to at least at least be on the edge like a 16. They are eight and three.
He should be. I know I can't answer why he's not other than what I said is a school is just, you know, but I've heard you all mentioned the fact that he should be there. So even saying that is kind of tough, but we, but I do digress. And we what's the risk?
Like what's the title? Is it a preseason list? No, it was I drop it in the chat. It's I don't.
Yeah. And it's been like this. This isn't the first time like he hasn't really been discussed for the Heisman. I don't know if that came through.
Well, no, you know, throughout the year when we've had this discussion before. So I just wanted to see, especially we cars are bad losing with Jackson Dart losing. You know, I was for sure. Can was going to roll off.
So I don't know. And I look again, I don't know where Fox got their data from. I'm just thinking they put all this stuff from the other stuff. So maybe this is their own chart.
So I don't know. I just wanted to, what does Vegas inside of have? Because they have, we'll have it on here. They have a lot of people.
So she was on this one way at the bottom, but it's way more people. Anyway, I don't know. We're from where it's time on that. And they're all right.
Yeah. He is going to be the number one quarterback. He may be the number one draft period when you look at it in the end. And maybe she do it.
Another thing that Deon said today was he was amazed at Travis what known the thought list, which is a finalist for that award, which is the top defensive back in the nation. Deon said, as a matter of fact, y'all could have mine back or he could have mine because he deserves this award. There's no reason. It's a crime that he's not on this list.
So it may be maybe right. It may be a little bit of hate for them. Because I don't know how you can leave him off because he is going to be the number one defensive back taken in the draft. And I think he'll be drafted as a defensive back first.
He will be a wide receiver, probably wide receiver three, but he's going to be a DB and he's the first one taken. So I don't know how he's not the best in the country, what he does. Yeah, that's definitely he went on the jump. But he's definitely the top.
I have four on the back of the country. Right. Yeah. Now I don't get to be with you guys there.
Hunter is that guy. He's definitely impressed me. Um, so I started watching him. So anyway, let's move on to the NFL.
We will talk about the Baltimore Ravens. The Baltimore Ravens had a bounce back victory on the road against the LA Chargers winning 30 to 27 after this victory. Other Ravens a lot for being the second best team in AFC behind whom I guess the bills, maybe chiefs. I don't know.
Second best team's a lot. No, I would say a lot. No, we can't say that at all because the Steelers beat them and the Steelers are still in first place in that division. You're not even the second you're the second best team.
You're division in your coffee in your in the AFC North. You're not even the second best team there. So there's no way to be the second best team in the conference. So now you got to get through Pittsburgh and you ain't done again.
So no, just a good win. Looking at their defense. We don't even know what they can stop Buffalo. Like not only do you have to beat Pittsburgh.
I really wouldn't be worried about them. We'll talk about that later with Pittsburgh's offense and the struggles that they've had. Like, yeah, I'm too scared of Pittsburgh going, excuse me, of them going into Pittsburgh and beating them. I could see that happening, but I wouldn't be.
I wouldn't feel comfortable with having their defense. Josh Allen, I think they'll be on like held data. They got to go to Buffalo in the playoffs or even play in Buffalo in the playoffs. Like there's a real problem with Baltimore's defense.
So I couldn't I couldn't conference them anyway, as far as other than the wild car scene. No, they stopped them really. Again, playoff is a different game though. Yeah, like we know the playoffs is different.
Like and their defense looks like it's getting worse. Like they weren't really starting. They're doing a really good job on offense right now. Masking how bad the defense is.
They defense look terrible last night. Yeah, that was a close game. Yeah. Yeah, they would couple of close calls away from losing that game.
It's a couple of drops. Yeah, long coverage is the problem. Drops calls and men that fall down, they went for it on four down in their own 20 yard line. That was a good see play call.
I don't know about that. Yes, they were. That was his brother. He wouldn't make it play.
So OK, so who do you guys have do the top three then? And they're for me. It would have to be the bills to chiefs in the Steelers right now. Steelers did lose a game to the Browns.
But once again, like we talked about, that was, you know, that was a divisional game. And it also was in snow and, you know, crazy temperatures, crazy weather. So I really don't count that as a huge hard loss, but it's still a loss nonetheless. That's a guy who's falling off.
Probably said that. Yeah, I would go all over the way. But the other man, that weather was off and was a divisional loss. Like I said, you're going to lose.
They're not going to go. They ain't perfect. It's not a perfect team. But we talk about the Steelers, their leadership and their defense and ability to bounce back.
They're resilient team. I still put them ahead of Baltimore because they beat them head to head. But let me ask you this notion. I can't make an argument against what would you put your money on this?
You know, say like when it comes out to it and I know that he bought some more head to head, I'm so more fearful of what the Ravens are capable of and have the so far in the season. Like you said, you know, if you're going to shoot the Steelers bail for Luther to the Brown, I'm going to shoot the Ravens bail, lose to the Steelers because it's commonplace, especially in a regular season, but Marjak to 70% with percentage against everybody else and his barely won two games against the Steelers. So it is what it is. If you go to shoot the Steelers, they'll shoot the Ravens.
I'm going to shoot the Ravens. They'll shoot the Steelers. And to me, I'm putting the rated down on the three. But the reason why you said what you said is the reason why you can't shoot a bail.
They always lose the Steelers. So how could you put them ahead of a team that they always lose to in a regular season? So I'm going to throw my words carefully. So I believe that if they see them in the playoffs, it's going to be a different story.
I still got my opinion on the Ravens. Check your mic input settings, people. I'm going to text you people. You got like some kind of weird fever.
Yeah. And Baltimore lost to the same Brown team without the weather. So, you know, we can't use that either. So that, you know, that's the watch the end because both of them lost to the same team.
I knew that Pittsburgh was going to lose that game because I saw a step that morning that said that time of the game, we don't Thursday night games. And I'm like, this is great. First, I was like, well, you know, he didn't really had good quarterbacks, you know, whatever. But I was like, that's the stats for a reason.
They identify our trends or whatever that occurs. I was like, that's it. Yeah, this will you probably lose this game and lower. He lost it.
Yeah. But we got a good James and Winston interview out of it though. People were finally, finally coming around to James Winston after all these years. Spike, I've been an advocate for James Winston.
Brilliant. So James is always been a fun guy. He was my guy to get to, which I love. I love this.
I don't know if y'all heard his mic up stuff, but it was pretty good. So he was trying to drive outside. Yeah. I'm fine.
Damn. Hey, he deserves his own show. Yeah, he's special, dude. He needed a little man in case or something.
He did. Yeah, man. I had to see him. The mic is low.
I would definitely watch him if he did some media stuff. My top three will be KC one. And I think it's interchangeable with Buffalo Baltimore and Pittsburgh. I think all of the all three of those things are equal to have their weaknesses.
I wouldn't conflict with any of it. Number two, but if it's a playoff game and the Ravens have to go in the road to Buffalo, which it looks like they may do, I would put my money on the bills over put my money on the Ravens just because I've seen Ravens play my other players before. I see what they often start to look like when they get nervous, like we seen last year when they couldn't. What was going on when they run the ball or whatever it may be.
So yeah, I've seen them blow it. I still think that they had to go to Buffalo. It would be some hard for them to fall off. So I put them in three and then it still is just because like you don't know what Russell Wilson I put them in four.
Chiefs bills, Ravens. That's my top three. If I had to pick the three. Why would you put the bills over the ranks?
I just got a feeling that this might be Josh Allen year. Historically, it's been hard for teams to repeat. So there's one thing that's going against them. So coming out of the AMC, his three tells us it should be another team.
Patrick Holmes is different. Guys in a different defy odds and stats. They make their own, but you would look at the bills of the Ravens. And I think Josh Allen has been through a lot.
So is Lamar, I think they both had heartbreaking losses, you know, and just really trying to get over the hump. So if they have if they faced each other in the AFC Championship game to go to the Super Bowl, bro. Oh my God, that is must see TV. Max.
So is that way to take them? Patty try to get a stir. I want to watch Patty get a stir, but if I go to watch Patty, if it doesn't happen, then give me that. Yeah.
So why would you pick the Ravens over the Steelers? Can Russell Wilson? Russell Wilson. And I just don't know what it is about Tomlin and offenses.
He can't find the right O.C. He just and for the last couple years, he hasn't had the right coach to. Well, no, not like white, not right coach. He hasn't had a quarterback.
So man, when they had our offense, it was, you know, it was like, but it's just Russell Wilson, man. I mean, he can his experience enables him to make throws and reads in certain plays that feels can't do just because he hasn't played enough football. So I'm one of those games going to touchdowns, like when they had the blitz coming, wrestling make that throw because rest of seeing that. So he knows exactly how to put the ball in front of Mike Williams to catch that touchdown.
But yeah, it's just and, you know, I just the offense is better, but it's not lights out. So they just got a guy that's not going to be able to make mistakes, but you best believe Russ could and can't. So until I see a smooth running offense and real identity, then I'll be I'll be on I'll be more on board. So look, obviously I picked the Ravens as well, but all of y'all saw the thing that I put into the in the chat where since the start of 2020, Russell has had 62 starts till the Mars 63 start 98.1 pass away into 98.2, 121 passing a rushing touchdown for Russell Wilson to Lamar Jackson's 119.
They both do 38 interception and they both have a 65% completion percent since the start of 2020. So even though I picked the Ravens, I was just saying, looking at those stacks, you know, you say that Russell Wilson is the reason why you don't put him over the Ravens, but he is technically Lamar Jackson by the numbers in the last four years. Okay. Well, we're just going to find out, but I don't know, man.
Yeah, this is just a feeling. I don't like my own. I don't like these feelings, bro, that, you know, it's just, I don't know. They won't, they won't Josh Allen.
They want to get there and this could be it. Anyway, there was not a disrespect this week, but we did. Yeah. I mean, you know, these kickers, bro.
Wow. They stick continue to be the bane of teams existence yet again. So, you know, we saw somebody else Washington end up losing the game. I don't think that's even over.
They put him on I ordered today to the kick. Why? You need to. Yeah.
I don't even I didn't want to win that game. I don't rather we lost. I don't want to trap. Well, I still don't know what that defense was that allowed him to catch and run the ball like that.
It's just saying nobody even tried to tackle it. I've never seen that before. I've never seen that before. I never seen that before.
I guess it was crazy. Yeah. The same thing. Like he was surprised.
They had the ball. It was like running towards the top. He was confused on what to do. That was the craziest in the game.
I've seen and I don't think I've ever seen it crazy in what I saw. That play out. I blame that on Mike McCarthy and Jerry Jones. I said today.
Jerry Jones came out of the day and still no definite that Mike McCarthy won't be extended. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
He said. Yeah. He said you can't tell by my body language. What we going to do in Mike McCarthy is a great coach.
So he said it is if Mike McCarthy saved his job. And so he said he had some good ideas. It's what he ended up with. Yeah.
But I got great ideas as a coach. Hey, Jerry Jones is crazy. Yeah. See, I see Shannon Sharp, but almost got Steven Smith.
Yeah, because I mean, you know, football. Did you get what? Did you get what Shannon was saying right there? I did.
I did. Wow. You didn't you thought he was being rough on on Stephen. I don't think I don't think Stephen.
They got what he was saying. I think Stephen. They wouldn't like Stephen. They would have lost him over the fact of what Shannon was like.
She was speaking from a real football perspective. I think Stephen. I still had his like, you know, commentator handle and that's why I was across. Yeah.
Where he was still kind of like in the festival. Like I'm part of the bait. But Shannon is like, bro, like there is no debate. We've been there.
It's what it is with this type of like, like, but you know, I'm telling you something. This is not like I'm telling you something. I'm asking you a question. I'm not asking you opinion.
I'm telling you something. It's what to be fair. And that's saying you can't do that to your your partner. You can't use the fact that you play as your defense, either either you debate it or you don't debate it.
But you ain't gonna just say, I guess I don't know. I played you didn't play. You can't do that. The whole reason that's the case.
He don't need to talk no football. You know, saying I can't use that. Like Shannon did an effort to start there. He had to go there to drive home the point that I'm telling you how it is.
There is no debate when it comes to this is how it is. And that's why he also wrote them tell you. Like, so just so that you know, like we've been in the locker room. Yeah, you've been around the locker room.
Yeah, you talk to people, but you're not there on the day to day. You know what I'm saying? But if that's the case, we can't talk to Stephen Day about basketball football, none of this stuff because he played on him. So to me, like I said, you're trying to kill his credibility as a journalist and to me in that setting you can't do that.
That's not how it's done. I don't agree with you. Because he has to say, like this is not the first time JJ Reddit, they missed no words. You know what I'm saying?
And I think at the end of the day, there are certain lines that Stephen Day just can't talk past where it's not the bait. Like what they say is what goes because they've done it at the highest level. I'm outside looking in there's no way that I can if the professional telling me that this is how it is, how can I outside looking in and be like, well, no, I think it's like this. Would you never been there?
Let's see. That's what I'm saying. Saying what you're saying, Fofo means we can't have a show. If I'm on a show with a player, I can't even talk to him because whatever he says is it you can have your opinion, right?
Like that's fine. But the reason that people like Shannon and I think he put it in March, the reason that they're on the show is because they're experts. And there's a difference between you having your opinion and an expert telling you like the same reason they bring the experts in on CNN or whatever show that you watch when you talk about political stuff or what they bring an expert in the field, I am now catering to you as far as because you know you've been there. And Stephen, they wouldn't coming up off of that fact like he should have like he should have listened to them when they were telling him, like, no, this is how it is.
I think you can still have those conversations with Stephen. Hey, because he has a good opinion. He's well studied in all the areas. He's really good at his job.
But when someone tells him something is like, no, no, this is like you bring him to consult it. And then you try to argue with the consultant about what they are experts in. But that's like you run. That's not.
Oh, great. Now, if you're coming in as a consultant, that's one thing. But if we have a show and we are debate show, that's what we supposed to be here doing. And that's what the show is based on.
It's not based on the fact that you know more than me about a certain subject. My job is to debate your job is to debate back. But if you don't shut me down, I'm saying I know more. We're not going to make no debate because that's going to be your answer to every debate.
But every time I'm going to stop, that's the beauty of it. Because that's the beauty of it. You don't have to pull that out all the time. But there's certain scenarios where that has to happen so you can be exemplary in your expertise.
And that's why Shannon is there. That's why you bring Cam New. That's why you have these people who are going to be able to say like, I get what you say. But now this is the way that it is.
You can't be like that 100% of the time. But sometimes that's what they're there for. So they can really it be like, now, y'all, y'all are off-face. That's why we love to like all of these Jeff Teague and Carmelo Anthony Park has.
We love that because they're able to give us the real inside school stuff. And I just really speak out of turn. That's why I love when Chris Carter was on a first thing's first because man, he was really mad. He would tell me.
I was like, oh, it was different. What are you going to say? No, I was. I was.
No, I like the fact I agree with that part. It's just the way what you say. I'm not going to tell you. I played you ain't.
That's not something that I'm going to say. I'm going to tell you. He worded it incorrectly like that. Yeah, that's my whole point is he throws it.
He does. That's just how he gets when he gets emotional. He likes to throw that around. It's like throwing it around.
Like, I'm this. You can't do that, man. That ain't that ain't debate. You just say what you know.
I mean, I don't know. That's not even a smooth. He could say that. That's why he's not Stephen A.
Smith. That's why Stephen A. I'm going to say that. I can't get paid the big money because he knows how to say that in a better way.
Shannon. No. And and and and FIFO FIFO actually already said it, but other people have told Stephen A Smith that before and JJ read it. He's telling that all the time.
He used to tell all of them. He was like, I played the game. He probably would say it as emotional as David A. But you would definitely say it.
He was like. Yeah. Yeah. But I look at something I can tell you is there's nothing more frustrating than arguing with somebody about something you know that you threatened from market.
It just happened to me this past weekend. and one of the shows and I just say one thing and having a fight. And having a spice. Where you're like, I'll just tell you man, people will argue down about something.
He don't really know because it may sound crazy. It is beyond frustrating. So I understand what how Shannon felt. He's like, bro, like I'll tell you what it is.
Like, I know. I'm telling you something. I'm not asking the question. I'm not telling.
Yeah. Um, anyway, and then I want to, um, because not on here, uh, I was a, oh, I got, look, I'm going to actually, uh, doing a side real quick. I'm, I'm a, I'm a hotjack, the docket. Hey, man.
Caleb might be all right, bro. Caleb Williams might be a brother. Hey, that was saying. I'm just saying, man, like I'm, you know, it hasn't looked the best, but these last couple of games, it looked like he's settling in and therefore he's had some pretty good fourth quarters, the last couple of games, they were, they have a result in and wins.
Unfortunately, and this was another one that, um, that unfortunately weren't winning, but he managed to get him into OT and we know what happened with the kicker the last time they should have, um, on that game, but he had a man that fourth quarter row and then that throw and when they got the ball back to put him in position by the time field goal, the, the two point conversion, now he still does dumb, she's still got to get the dumb shit out like that. Saki took it over time. Like that's like, we used to sit in there. You got all this time.
Nobody's open, bro. Throw the ball away because you're not going to be able to run around like that. Um, and I think that caused him in OT, but I'm starting to see flashes. I'm starting to see it.
Starting. Okay. May you wait for the game? This is why I just said, I'll be there.
They're a bad organization. They haven't been able to put it all together. We blame Hebrew, fluency and all this. It is what it is.
But Ken, like the, are you talking about the dose of the Andre switch out? Now, some of that was the one to DJ more in the middle of the field. Okay. Yeah.
That was like, that's the one that I was like, okay, like, this is the reason why they compared to do them all because it was a bootleg, but there was a, a naked defender off the edge. He had outrun him. So when he threw that, Ken and the angle that he threw that at, and also he couldn't exhibit because there was two defenders in the area and he had to throw it soft enough and far enough for the other to just run up under Ken. Ken, the do got gained, the do got skilled.
It's going to take the organization to get the right offense to mine in that building because it's not who they have. They're in it and we knew that we knew that the bear should know that. But they know it out. They definitely know now they're just going to have to clean house when it comes to that.
I agree with Ken, you and Fifo, like he could be a generational talent, but it's still the same thing that we said all season, like, are the bears organization going to be smart enough and do what they need to do and put the right officer, people around him? I would pay Ben Johnson from Detroit. However much money he wants to come and make sure he drives his Ferrari, bro. You got to get the top of the top upper Echelon and we'll know Ben Johnson's again, coach.
I would concede to that, but I still, he looks like one of the best playcalls. I would want to pair him with Caleb Wiggs. So this is up to the bearish. I agree with you, Ken.
What we seen over the last couple of weeks from Caleb, it's like, okay, damn, even with him, he was in there. He's like, like he ain't letting that bring him down. It's like, okay, I see what this is. He's finally got the realization of the ceiling that his coach can get him to.
Like, okay, I'm just going to go ahead and be kind of Williams in the generational time that the job thought I was. And all the bears got to do now is put the right people beside. And the crazy part and I had to do Shelton is, I mean, we praise Jayden Daniels a lot, but statistically they kind of right on par, you know, Jayden Daniels is starting to kind of fall down a little bit. You know, as the season goes on, but what are you going to say, Shelton?
I was going to say, yeah, you see, you know, quarterbacks progressive different levels. I talk about it all the time. Some of them, it takes a little longer to get acclimated to their situations. It also depends on we talk about that to the coaches, staffs that you have, the office that you run, skill position players that you're using that you have to do a whole bunch of disposal.
Your office of line, all of these things matter. If you pick first, your first four reason, we talked about that, Kyle talked about that too. Um, even though it was not that big, still you in a position where you got the first pick, these guys, some of them get it. They got the talent.
We knew he had the talent. We've seen him make the throws. We've seen him make every throw that imaginable to make. We've seen him be smart.
We've seen him on the pressure. He'll get there. And I think he's fine. He'll be there sooner than later.
I think he'll be fine. And him and Jayd Daniels we have a nice long battling career. Hopefully they grow at the same pace. Um, so I'm proud about those guys.
Let's talk about some two other quarterbacks. Um, um, rookies at that. Um, what do you think Shelton about Drake, ma'am and Bo Nix? Both of those guys are pressing me as well.
I was a, I was a high either coming in to the season and I say that because a lot of the things necessary, Bo Nix was a disappointment at all. He couldn't get it together. He went out to Oregon and play, you know, he played well because he was a veteran quarterback, but he was virtually a disappointment at Auburn. Same thing with Drake, May, his last couple of years of Carolina, he started out hot and you saw he had talent, but he got figured out pretty easy in a senior year.
He didn't look that great. So going into, you know, the draft, it's like, okay, it's a tough situation. But these two guys, and they didn't flash quite as hard as the other two, but both of them went in stable organizations with good situations, which even though New England is not male, stands for crazy stuff. I still think it's a good situation for him to be in and develop, even though he, you know, he's, he's struggling a little bit, but you still see the talent level.
I think they pick right. It's better than Matt Jones and both of them are doing well. Um, Bo Nix and perfect situation with Sean Payton, uh, run for his offense and he's putting the ball where it needs to be. Don't mess it up.
