Is the "Bad Seed Theory" Real or Just a Movie?

Scientists have speculated for years that some children are just born wrong and despite having a loving home, they go off the rails and become outcasts. Is this where pedophilia comes into play? Are most pedophiles just bad seeds? I have never seen a pedophile rehabilitated successfully, they always seem to re-offend.
