Is the County Commission trying to exempt themselves from Open Meetings Laws?

from KELY 1230AM/98.5 FM News and Commentary · host Wyatt Cox

Your County Commission is at it again. Coming up at Wednesday’s meeting, they’ll discuss clarifying their own directives that prohibit amendments to agendas and prevent the distribution of backup material during meetings. In effect from what they’ve distributed in this agenda, it looks like they may be trying to exempt themselves from open meeting laws and oversight by the Attorney General or the State of Nevada. Now, I’m not an attorney—nor do I play one on the radio—but it seems to me that this county commission will keep playing fast and loose with the rules, if not the law, and doing whatever the hell they want to do, whenever they want. This is what you voted for, folks, and you’ll have to live with it until the next election. This is not an open County Commission.
