Laura Cronin, a post-primary teacher with significant experience in mainstream and Special Education Needs (SEN) settings is calling for a serious overhaul of the teacher recruitment process in Ireland. She says that despite the media's claim that there is a severe shortage in her subject areas such as Home Economics, positions in the Southeast or nationwide are non-existent.
