Is there a coherence running throughout the liberal ideology or the socialist ideology or the conservative ideology? Put another way, do all the political beliefs that a leftist tends to hold have a rational coherence that binds them together. Or is it an emotional coherence? I briefly look at late Harvard philosopher Judith Shklar and her work on the single emotional disposition that binds liberal beliefs as an ideology.
