Is There Not A Cause?

from Faith Revival Podcast Hosted by Faith Revival Center Church of Edmonton

🔥 This is not just a story about David and Goliath. This is a sermon about WHY you were born!David didn't come to the Valley of Elah to fight. He came to bring cheese and bread to his brothers. He was just the delivery boy. He was just the shepherd boy left with a few sheep in the wilderness. But when he heard Goliath defy the armies of the living God — something rose up in him.He looked around and saw a whole army FLEEING. He saw Saul hiding. He saw Israel sore afraid. And he asked the question that changed history:"What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?"And when his own brother Eliab tried to shut him down — "I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart... Why camest thou down hither?" — David didn't argue. He didn't quit. He just answered with 5 words that still shake hell today:"IS THERE NOT A CAUSE?"In this powerful Apostolic episode, we break down what a CAUSE really is:A cause is not a hobby. A cause is not a feeling. A cause is something that POSSESSES you. It redirects your purpose, your resources, your energy. It leaves you with NO OPTION but to move forward. It’s hard to ignore. It lasts from generation to generation. It never changes.People die for a cause every day. Filipinos died for freedom. Martin Luther King died for human rights. Gandhi died for justice. Celebrities use their fame for a cause. But what about THE CAUSE?1. THE CAUSE FOR WORSHIP 1 Peter 2:9 — Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light! You weren't saved to sit. You were called out to show forth praises! Worship is not a song — it's a cause!2. THE CAUSE FOR SERVING Mark 10:45 — For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.Romans 10:14 — How shall they hear without a preacher? If no one goes, no one hears. If no one hears, no one believes. If no one believes, no one calls. Somebody has to serve!3. THE CAUSE OF JESUS CHRIST David said in 1 Samuel 17:45 — "Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts!"Jesus said in Luke 4:18 — "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor... to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives..."And in John 18:37 — Jesus stood before Pilate and said, "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth."Jesus didn't come for comfort. He came for a CAUSE!THE CALL:When you are born again, baptized in His name, and filled with His Spirit — you don't just put on His NAME, you put on His CAUSE!Living for God is not just about receiving blessing and provision. It's about putting the cause of Christ into your heart. So the question for you today is the same question David asked his brother:Will you help forward the cause of Christ? Will you help your Pastor spread this Cause? Will you help your Church push this Cause forward in any form?Your Goliath is defying. Your valley is waiting. Your brother may misunderstand you. Your Saul may be afraid. But — IS THERE NOT A CAUSE?🎧 Listen now.
