Is This Government-Funded Game an Accidental Advert for Rightwing Protests?
from Tomlinson Talks · host Connor Tomlinson
The government’s "anti-extremism" body, Prevent, has developed a new video game called "Pathways" to warn children that sharing "far right" politics and anti-immigration content online will get them referred to counter-terror programmes. But this has backfired because its character, Amelia, implicitly promises you will meet purple-haired alternative and goth girls at remigration rallies. I can't think of a better unintended advertisement to young men for getting involved in rightwing protest movements than "Meet your manic pixie dream girl by marching for mass deportations."
