Have you ever been lured in by “rage bait”? Rage baiting is a strategy of boosting publicity through anger and being confrontational. In this podcast episode, I will respond to some comments.[0:00] Intro[2:40] Does your past define you?[8:25] Do you have to keep God’s commandments?[12:27] Is forgiveness an excuse to sin?[23:00] Final thoughtsBible Verses:2 Corinthians 5:11-17Romans 5:1-2John 14:15-17Matthew 18:21-35Matthew 6:7-15Does your past define you?As a Christian, you should not let the past define who you are. This is true for anyone who has given their lives to Jesus Christ. No one is outside the reach of God's forgiveness and salvation. Even the Apostle Paul was transformed from persecuting Christians to being redeemed by God. Believers are new creations in Christ, no longer defined by their past sins.“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17Do you have to keep God’s commandments? The law was given to show human sinfulness and that people cannot do anything about their own sin. But Christ fulfilled the law perfectly. Believers are justified through faith in Christ, not by keeping the law. The motivation to follow God is love, not to earn salvation.“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15Is forgiveness an excuse to sin?Forgiveness is about letting go of the debt owed to you. Forgiveness does NOT condone sin.Matthew 18:21-35 illustrates the importance of forgiving others as God forgives us. Forgive others and live free from the prison of unforgiveness and the burden of anger and bitterness. We’d love to hear from you!
