We discuss the electric chemistry and individual performances from Will Arnett and Laura Dern, decide how funny the stand up of the film actually is, and create a top 5 of movies from the last six years that have been directed by actors. As Alex Novak stumbles into an open mic comedy night, will it be enough to revitalise his passion for life, and perhaps in turn for his marriage. Enjoy the episode!Asking is this thing on? is awkward whatever the response is. If the audience say no then we have an awkward lull to try and figure out how to fix it, if the answer is yes then it confirms that the audience did in fact hear the terrible joke, and didn't like it one bit. It's an awful question. Perhaps a good alternative would be 'Do you need me to repeat a bit of it for you?' or 'Who's ready to start with some comedy?'.
