His company, All Things Narrative, provides educational workshops and coaching that guides people in telling their stories more meaningfully. He hosts ‘Live A Meaningful Story’, a podcast that explores how stories help us make sense of life. Derrick’s education includes a Masters in Narrative Therapy & Community Work from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelors in Ministry from the Antioch School of Leadership Development. In 2018, he received the “Next Generation of Leaders” Award by the National Afterschool Association; and in 2020, he received the Beyond the Call of Duty” Award by Prime Time Palm Beach County. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing drums, raising ducks, visiting under-privileged children as a Spider-Man cosplayer, and teaching at his church.
