Isaac Diaz on Career Longevity, Faith & Finding His Next Chapter

Isaac Diaz discusses his long career, describing success as simply not quitting and noting he's missed the NFR more years than he's made it despite competing for 21 years and often attending 85+ rodeos annually. He shares growing up in South Florida outside a rodeo family, guided by mentor Mike Fletcher, and relying more on work and perseverance than money. Diaz explains shifting priorities toward family and a "next thing," recently earning a Texas real estate license through Hayden Outdoors while continuing to enjoy rodeo, horses, and a home program. The group talks about confidence, choosing positive circles, and using rodeo skills after competition, plus avoiding social media to protect time and mindset. Diaz details a faith-driven life turnaround after three DUIs and how Christianity reshaped his goals beyond a gold buckle. They also cover judged-event realities, replay controversies, admired role models, and the value of humility and mentorship.   Visit us at www.thecowboyperspective.com Isaac Diaz: https://www.haydenoutdoors.com/agents/isaac-diaz/   Topics 00:11 Meet Isaac Diaz 00:48 Never Quit Mindset 02:04 NFR Goals Reality 05:13 Florida Roots Mentor 07:22 Life After Rodeo 09:15 Real Estate New Path 13:36 Social Media Boundaries 18:30 Broke But Driven 29:05 Confidence Negativity Faith 32:25 Bareback Riding Clicks 34:24 When Riding Slows Down 35:32 Hardest Event to Learn 36:37 Quitting the Gym 37:57 Confidence Over Fitness 40:26 Chasing the Gold Buckle 41:25 Faith and a 180 Turn 43:14 Three DUIs Testimony 46:20 Rodeo Road Partners 48:50 Success Feels Scarier 52:04 Guilt From Winning 55:03 The Saddle I Couldn't Take 01:00:04 Judging Is Human 01:02:09 Stetsons Replay Controversy 01:04:47 The Wright Family Pressure 01:07:44 Visibility Changes Everything 01:09:03 Bias And Favorites 01:10:06 Judging Style Debates 01:10:56 Heroes And Mentors 01:14:02 Rocker Steiner Revisited 01:15:51 Seeing Past First Impressions 01:20:38 Craving Criticism To Grow 01:25:30 Faith Lessons From Horses 01:28:39 Mirror Test For Trainers 01:31:11 Fear And Spotlight Pressure 01:35:21 Honesty Builds Community 01:38:35 Find High Level Competition 01:39:46 Final Thanks And Wrap
