Isaiah 11:1-10 - "The Hope in the Promise."
from Rooted in God’s Word · host Pastor Erik Lydick
In this message we slow down and remember that Jesus did not just suddenly appear in Bethlehem. He was promised. Long before the manger, God spoke through the prophet Isaiah about a coming King, a shoot from the stump of Jesse, the Spirit anointed Messiah who would judge in righteousness, defend the poor, and bring a peace so deep that even creation is renewed (Isaiah 11:1–10).We look at the tension Isaiah carried, holding both the joy of God’s saving promises and the grief of a hardened people who were in danger of missing their King. We connect that ancient hope to our present darkness, and we remember that God keeps His promises. The Child born, the Son given, is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6–7).This episode invites you to:• Rediscover the hope of Advent as more than a tradition• See Jesus as the promised King from the line of Jesse• Rest in the faithfulness of God who always keeps His word• Look back to Bethlehem and ahead to the promised second coming of our KingListen in, be encouraged, and let your heart say with the church, “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”#RootedInTheWordOfGod #Podcast #NewEpisode #Advent #WeekOne #Hope #Promise #Isaiah11 #Isaiah9 #ShootFromTheStumpOfJesse #JesusOurKing #YeshuaHaMashiach #LightInTheDarkness #ChristmasSeason #ComeLordJesus
