We continue to discuss Israel's rejection of God. We are reminded that God's desire is to build a temple for Himself by using Christ as the cornerstone. Cornerstones were used to ensure the structure was level and the building was plumb. The interesting thing is that this cornerstone (Christ) causes the Jews to stumble and the Gentiles to take offense. Yet, without our cornerstone, the building would not pass inspection and would be considered a failure.
