Isaiah 53: Not About You Live Sermon

from Grace Bond Ministries · host Jonathan Jenkins

If you listen to this podcast regularly, when you hear this sermon, you may hear some similarities between this message and the podcast entitled "Not About You, But About Pleasing God." I was asked to preach on 12/19/21 during the morning services at First Baptist Church of Floral City and decided to preach this message to the whole church! I think it is a much needed message that I know I will listen to many times, and I hope you will take the time to listen as well. There is an issue that I have seen in my own life, even to this day, even after preaching this message three times. It is an issue that I know has plagued humanity for thousands of years. The problem is selfishness. I have been so selfish in my life by not worshipping and following God in many situations. I chose my own selfish desires (sin) over pleasing God, time and time again. As Christians, we are not called to be selfish, but to be selfless. This means that we put God and others before ourselves. While I don't think we can perfectly be selfless, until after we have our glorified sinless bodies in the resurrection, I do think we can please God by pursuing the perfection of selflessness. So after realizing the issue that we face, in this sermon we will read through the "Forbidden Chapter," Isaiah 53 and look at the example of Jesus Christ. Find out in this sermon why this is the forbidden chapter, how we can be more selfless in a selfish world, and how life is not about you, but it IS about pleasing God! P.S. This is a video recording of the sermon. If you would like to watch it on video, just check out the YouTube or Facebook page! God Bless
