Book of Isaiah chapter 6 records Isaiah’s powerful vision of the Lord seated on His throne, high and exalted, while the seraphim proclaim, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty.” Confronted by God’s holiness, Isaiah becomes aware of his own sinfulness and cries out in humility. Yet God, in His mercy, cleanses Isaiah with a burning coal from the altar and calls him into service. When God asks, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Isaiah responds with willing surrender, “Here am I! Send me.” This chapter reminds us that an encounter with God’s holiness leads to transformation, cleansing, and a willingness to fulfill His purpose.
