Isolation - 2021/01/20
from BDS.Sound Hosted by BDS.Sound
For me, this song evokes a feeling I've been having for the past few months. A lot has happened this past year and already in 2021, and being stuck at home during this time can feel isolating. What isn't isolating is knowing that while we may be confined to our homes, we're all going through this together and for me, I take comfort in that. I hope you feel that too and can get a sense of that in this song. There's also something about this song when I listen to it that has this weird sort of nostalgia to it. I feel like it's heavily influenced by the music I grew up listening to but is also a bit different from what I've previously released. Maybe that's just me longing for a time when we were all together. With all that in mind, I guess it's fitting to have this song mark the beginning of the next set of singles I'm going to be releasing for the Off-the-cuff series. Late last year I was experimenting with different ways to create music through a DAW app on my iPad, how to use and connect different controllers to it and how it can be used as the brain for my song making. This is the first song that came from that experimentation and that sense of control over my song writing. I really hope you enjoy this song. I'm going to keep experimenting with this new approach and hoping to bring more songs to you soon!
