Isolation (May 17, 2026)

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. In this week’s Sunday Spark: The Set List, Pastor Zach steps a little outside the usual church music box with John Lennon’s “Isolation.” Paired with the themes of the day, the song becomes a reflection on fear, loneliness, pain, and the ways we can become separated from one another. Its words may not have been written as a Christian song, but they speak honestly about something deeply human: the desire to belong, the fear of being alone, and the damage that happens when anxiety turns us inward. Set alongside the reminder that God gives strength and power to God’s people, this special music asks us to consider what isolation does to us—and what becomes possible when we refuse to face our fears alone. Sometimes the most unexpected song can help us hear the message in a whole new way.
