When a patient is admitted to the hospital, one of the first things the medical staff will do is hook the patient up to a Vital Signs Monitor (VSM). A VSM provides important data on the overall health of the patient. In Malachi 2:1-9, the Lord has hooked Israel's priests up to a spiritual VSM, with Malachi being the monitor.
