Aron Angel (19116-2010) Angel, 1960'lı yıllarda İstanbul Nazım Planı Daire Başkanı olarak çalıştı. Açık alanlı ve geniş kaldırımlı düzeni ve az katlı bahçeli evleriyle parmakla gösterilen Bağdat Caddesi ve çevresinin nazım planını tamamen o hazırladı. Ancak dönemin hem Valisi hem Belediye Başkanı olan Fahrettin Kerim Gökay, Hilton Oteli'nin inşasını onaylamasını isteyince, "harp yıllarında güçlüklerle oluşturulan yeşil alandan özveride bulunulamayacağını belirterek, şahsi menfaatlerin revaçta olduğu bir müessesede çalışmaktan utanç duyuyorum" diyerek istifa eder.
