IT: Chapter Two - Part 1

from The Brook Reading Podcast · host Brook Reading

Episode 70 is my first film review!  My friends (and former co-hosts of Brook Reading) and I dissect each nuance of “IT:  Chapter Two” after a Stephen King themed weekend together!   Alison from the four parts of “IT” on Brook Reading, Victoria of Pocket Change Productions and the Horror Academic, and our good friend and fellow King fanatic, Crissa, discuss minority stereotypes and how they were butchered within this storyline.  We look at the myriad of differences from the book and the movie and how the movie did not do the book justice. Other topics include creepy fetishes, bratty youngins, Blumhouse, SPOILER ALERT!, “Pinhead’s my sexy monster!”, and so on.   We fit this story into the horror genre of today versus when we grew up.  Does this fit as a horror movie today, independent from the book? Yes. Did we think that choices were made based on the generation of people that will seek this movie out?  Absolutely. Did we enjoy it? Well...you’ll have to listen and find out!      “Monsters are real, and ghosts are real, too.  They live inside us, and sometimes, they win.” - Stephen King   Shoutouts: The Circle Opens Podcast   Promos:   ALL THE HORROR Promo featuring 2 Girls on a Bench ALL THE HORROR Promo featuring Brook Reading! :) What Does It Matter?  Podcast   Intro Song by Sean Faust   When you are in the market for concert, sports or events tickets, why don’t you use Seat Giant?  You can recieve a discount if you enter the promo code: BROOKWORMS specially designed for fans of the Brook Reading Podcast!  Go to www.seatgiant.com and check them out!    Thank you so much for all of your support!  Subscribe and check out my other episodes on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify, Stitcher, Radio Public, Castbox, Player FM, or download directly from http://brookreading.libsyn.com.  You can also leave comments, questions, or novel requests on Twitter @brookreadingpod, on Instagram @brookreading, on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/brookreadingpodcast/ or email me:  [email protected].   If you use the hashtags  #wlipodpeeps #ladypodsquad #podernfamily on Twitter and find the networks Famous Original Podcast Network (http://www.fopnet.biz) and the No Phony Podcast Network (www.nophonynetwork.com), you’ll discover other awesome podcasts.  Happy reading!
