Brandon Jones is the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health Executive Director. He joins Sheletta to talk about talking to children about the tragedy we experienced as a community last week with the Annunciation Catholic School mass shooting. Brandon runs through nuanced approaches for children of different ages to meet them where they’re at in a way that they can understand. Sheletta mentions that she’s noticed a mass exodus of people working as counselors. She and Brandon then talk about how we can better help those who help support our children and their emotional well being. Dr. Quintarias Lester returns to the show to talk about Ozempic teeth after news of many people experiencing oral issues after taking Ozempic. Dr. Lester says Ozempic creates a perfect storm for bacteria with mouth dryness and appetite suppression. Dr. Lester then suggests some tips to help combat a nonfavorable oral environment.
