Snoop Dogg – "Iz It a Crime?" "Iz It a Crime?" is the 21st studio album by hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg, released on May 15, 2025, via Death Row Records. This project arrives just five months after his collaborative album Missionary with Dr. Dre, showcasing Snoop's relentless creativity and evolution as an artist. The album’s title and themes are a direct response to the backlash Snoop faced earlier this year after performing at the Crypto Ball during President Trump’s inauguration weekend. Critics questioned his credibility, and the controversy led to a significant drop in followers on social media. Instead of addressing the situation through interviews, Snoop used this album to process and express his thoughts, turning the criticism into fuel for one of his most personal records. "Iz It a Crime?" features 21 tracks with collaborations from Pharrell Williams, Wiz Khalifa, Sexyy Red, October London, Jane Handcock, and Charlie Bereal. The production, led by Battlecat, Nottz, and Rick Rock, blends introspective melodies with classic West Coast sounds. The title track reinterprets Sade’s “Is It a Crime” through Snoop’s perspective, blending emotional depth with street wisdom. Lyrically, the album explores themes of loyalty, loss, love, and legacy. “My Friend” honors lost loved ones, “Can’t Get Enough” is a tribute to his wife Shante Broadus, and “Life’s Journey” reflects on his decades-long career. Meanwhile, “ShutYoBitchAssUp” directly addresses long-standing tensions with former Death Row CEO Suge Knight. The project is accompanied by a short film that blends music videos, behind-the-scenes footage, and documentary-style storytelling, offering a visual extension of the album’s emotional and cultural themes. #IzItACrime #SnoopDogg "Iz It a Crime?" is available on all major streaming platforms.
