Episode Transcript (provided by Riverside - forgive any errors)Follow I Must Be BUGN on IGIn this episode, I take my time really digging into the concept of ego, exploring its role in self-awareness and personal identity. I discuss the importance of understanding the ego as both a source of strength and a potential obstacle. I briefly discuss Freud while leaning much more heavily on the thoughts of Mooji and my own thoughts about how we conceptualize our Self. I talk a bit about psychological theories and then continue my journey by discussing the nature of consciousness, identity, and the transient nature of our experiences. I really go into the complexities of identity, authenticity, and the role of ego in shaping our self-perception. I also make sure to frame this from a neurodivergent perspective, since that significantly shapes how we see and interact with the world. At the end of the day, this is a deep and complex conversation about how to become truly aware of our true Selves so that we can not just survive but thrive through the connections we foster from a truly authentic and unmovable place that isn't bound by current or past circumstances.Key Points:We are not our bodies or minds; they are vessels and lenses through which we experience Life.Ego can manifest as both strength and obstacle.Self-acceptance is crucial as we navigate change. We must challenge our perceptions of Self.Connection is fundamental to our existence and well-being.We often see others through the lens of our own experiences.Shame and guilt can prevent personal growth and acceptance. We are all interconnected, and our experiences shape our identities.Helpful Links:Mooji on "What is Ego?"Annaka Harris discusses the illusion of self and free willAudre Lorde - "Learning from the '60s""Ego Tripping" by Nikki GiovanniHire me to speak or buy some merch!Community for Black Gifted Adults - Our Wild Minds - Use code "Sheldon"Umbrella US - Non-profit focused on neurodivergent advocacyND Connect - Online community for neurodivergent peopleSubmit your Questions or Misunderstood InsightsIntro and Outro music provided by byrdversion1 - "It Couldn't Be" from the album Nevermore Hosted on Acast. Wildfire Oxen Shannon Copper In the this podcast I will share personal experiences through my life’s journey. I am hoping to uplift and inspire the next person to do the same wether it be a positive or negative story. It must be shared. My belief is that we have the power to change the narratives of our stories for the better. Rev. Hooman Rev. Hooman Hello friend! I’m Rev. Hooman—“Rev.” as in Revelation (and also Revenue, Revised, and Revvvv!).I craft inner mystical journeys through sound—blending Melodic House, Deep House, Afro House, NuDisco, and Techno (because at heart, I’m still a techno kid).My sets are rooted in tribal and international rhythms, shaped by my Middle Eastern and Latin influences growing up. Every performance is a ritual of presence—designed for embodiment, release, and emotional resonance.I love creating music in live, immersive environments, where I can record and blend the crowd energy into the mix. Since I’m usually behind the decks, I don’t always get to chat face-to-face for long (the track must be changed!)—but when I revisit the set on headphones, I often discover spaces I didn’t even know I opened.I’ve had the honor of opening for some of my musical heroes: GoldCap, Sabo, Be Svenden, Bedouin, Unders, Britta, Miyagi, The Soul Brothers, and Behrouz. If you’re creating a space for movement, magic, and ENTIRE BIBLE READING Elena Hello everyone! Welcome to ENTIRE BIBLE READING where I'll try to read the whole bible with you. You know I've been a Christian for almost a decade but I must confess that I haven't read the whole bible continuously and chronologically. So O decided to share with you this journey believing that I can fulfill this personal purpose hitting another one which is to bless you, too. I declare that through this, you will find strength and rest from the Lord. I also hope you'll join and stay with me until the end. I know it won't be fast and easy but I believe that as I start, God will bring it into What's Poppin' Alyndria Johnson What’s poppin’ y’all? Welcome to my thoughts! My hope is to keep you all entertained and informed all at once. Now I must warn you all my thoughts and opinions can be A LOT to take in at times. I may make you laugh, cry, sad, or even may piss you the hell off a bit, but my goal is to make you think in a different perspective. We don’t have to agree as long as the opinion can be seen from another point of view.
