It Takes The Church (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

As we celebrate child dedications this weekend, we’ll take a break from John and look at a passage that has a lot to say about godly parenting. There are so many voices competing for our kids in this world, and this text reminds us that we must do everything we can to ensure that God’s word is the loudest and clearest of all. Though we may not be able to impart eternal life to our children, we can make sure that we are doing everything in our power to raise them in a way that they have every opportunity to become faithful followers of Jesus. This starts at home, but a great part of God’s design for the church is that we have a spiritual family ready to partner with us in this great pursuit.
