Raemer is an American-born Israeli who has lived on Kibbutz Nirim near the Gaza border since 1975. A leading advocate for Israel’s southern communities, she founded Life on the Border with Gaza and documented daily life under hundreds of rocket attacks. A regular contributor to The Times of Israel, she is frequently interviewed by international media. On October 7, 2023, Adele survived the Hamas massacre after hiding for 11 hours in her safe room.
