It's a Twofer Tuesday

What’s better than one podcast? Two podcasts. OK - it’s actually one podcast, broken into two different parts. I was at San Diego Football Club’s training ground this morning and stuck around for the press conference ahead of Wednesday’s CONCACAF Champions Cup match against Toluca FC. Marty scheduled an interview with MLB.Com’s AJ Cassavell for 10AM. Fortunately, we were able to divide and conquer. In this episode, I’ll recap the press conference today at SDFC, what we did and didn’t hear from Mikey Varas and you’ll also hear the head coach’s thoughts on the Diablos Rojos. The team was keeping its decision on tomorrow’s goalkeeper close to the vest. Will it be Pablo Sisniega or Duran Ferree? The case for both. Then, Marty & Cassavell talk Padres Spring Training story lines, including how Nick Castellanos has looked at 1B, end-of-the-roster decisions, Song and (of course) Craig Stammen’s leadoff hitter options. This is a public episode. If you would like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit dsmithshow.substack.com
