Welcome to the tweet trends podcast. Hey, what's trending today? Hey, I mean, hey girl and you are tuned in to It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today Welcome back to tweet trends. I don't know if you knew this or not, but it's coming.

It'll be here real soon Let's get started These next seven days are gonna be very interesting to say the least because like I said before it's coming But what it is could be a host of different things to start with Halloween is this coming Saturday We turn our clocks back on Sunday and then the main event happening on Tuesday is Election day and you know when I sit and think about Halloween versus Election day I don't know which one is scarier because there's so much fear and hate mongering going on out there right now that it is Absolutely ridiculous. I sit and I wonder seriously what are people thinking in regards to our children You know all these pro lifers out there, you know, you want these kids here You want them alive, but with them being here you subject them to some of the worst behavior Like really what is it that we are modeling for our children by putting all of this negative energy out into the atmosphere? case in point in this past week I went to visit my family in South Carolina and you know, there is the huge election Competition between Lindsey Graham and Jamie Harrison now There's a third guy involved too, and I don't even really know what his name is because those are the only two names that I heard now There was a stark contrast between the the the images that were on television the commercials for Lindsey Graham They all had now it was crazy because they had AOC they had Nancy Pelosi They even had Bernie Sanders in these things like saying that if you voted for Jamie then you were basically voting for all these other people and that you know, he just doesn't know what he's doing and he's a poor choice and Oh, it was awful. They had images of them being like in the back of a police car a cruiser Just and these are made up images These aren't real things like there's no point in time that all these people have been in the back of a cruiser together Being carted off the jail or wherever you might think that this police car was supposed to be taking them But and then the crazy thing was opposite spectrum.

There's this one commercial that I saw and it was so heartwarming It was an elderly lady. She's a Caucasian lady Probably in her 80s. She said that she had always voted for Lindsey Graham Every single time but this year was not gonna happen She was like, you know, he is not the Lindsey Graham that she used to know and believe in and she was putting her vote behind Jamie Harrison and I was I was touched by this particular commercial because of the fact there was no fear being Handed out in Lou Gobs where they're saying oh, if you vote for Lindsey Graham, it's gonna be this It's gonna be that you're gonna catch. Hell.

It wasn't none of that. This lady was basically saying that you know This guy is not the guy who I have voted for in years past. He has changed He has allowed something to change him and I can no longer stand behind him I can in fact stand behind this other candidate because ABC XYZ and she went down her list of things that she liked about Jamie She did not have to sit there and bash Lindsey Graham. She didn't do it But that was like the only commercial that I saw that entire time that I was like wow Where are the commercials like this?

Where are the commercials where the candidates are building themselves up instead of tearing other people down? Because all we're doing is putting on a show for our children and they're watching they're listening They're soaking this whole thing up and how can you expect society to change if that's what you're teaching? That's what you're preaching. That's what you're showing the the youth the leaders of tomorrow and they're gonna think that Well, this is how it's always been this is how it's always gonna be and this is how we run an election We we bash each other it doesn't matter what I can do for you It's what that person can't do or what they're gonna do this so bad to you that you're not gonna be able to stand it Now I did not mean to spend that much time in that last segment talking about the election But I had to share that little tidbit with you because it actually blew me away as I sat there and watched the various commercials that were coming on television But on a completely different note what I need for you to do ASAP is to go online to websites like USA.gov Where you can find out your information about voting on election day if you have not cast your ballot yet Because honestly, they're not even referring to election day as the day that you go vote They're looking at election day as the day they're gonna count the ballots They are counting ballots on election day because so many people have taken the opportunity To go ahead and vote ahead of time And I think that's a good thing that you get it out of the way and don't worry about all of the nonsense and the shenanigans It very well may be going on on election day now I had a little mini scare literally minutes before I decided to do this episode I went and looked on the USA.gov website and there was a statement there that was saying that basically Because like the very first question on the page was can I vote online and it was like no in federal elections in the United States You can't vote online and I'm like oh my gosh because guess what I did I voted online Did I did I get like catfished by the voter people like what happened?

How was I able to do that went into panic mode called? You know went through the website found all of the numbers and emails that I needed called and amazingly I was able to get through to an actual person for the elections in my area and And she assured me she was actually even able to look up and see the date that I submitted my ballot It was like yes, you're fine because your military your absentee. We got you you're good And I was like phew that was the serious head wipe You know the sweat was flying all over the room because I'm like I don't have time to get there to actually vote in person Oh my gosh I'm gonna have to spend like a million dollars to get something shipped down there like overnight and oh my I was I was all over the place But luckily I can do that So I'm saying all of that to say this to you go and check everything out make sure that you are 100 Do not play around until election day to then start trying to figure things out. You've got time now use that time now On a lighter and brighter note Saturday is Halloween and now granted those of you with littles You may be a little conflicted trying to figure out what should I do?

OMG I really want my kids to have fun is Halloween Halloween is a fun day up on holiday However, we still got this covid being and in some places the numbers are spiking again What do you do? How do you keep your kids safe? But not just take away all of the fun for them in you know these past what seven nine months It seems like it's been forever honestly since March count back you do the math But it's crazy Because one of the things that I think about quite regular whenever there's something that gets canceled because of covid and you hear people Wine and complain about the fact that it's like they can't have any fun I always turn back to the idea that you know what we might miss this one But there's nothing to say that they're done for life Get over it get over yourself and learn to deal with tough times I honestly and truthfully feel that some of us because of the life experiences that we have had leading up to this time We were built for this. We were made for this We can go without and not feel like we are so privileged and we have to flex our rights in everyone's space to be like I'm not wearing a mask and I'm not doing this and I want my kids back in schools And and I know for the people that want that they're going to be you know stomping through the neighborhoods with their little costumes on Begging for candy.

You know what don't come to my door. My light will not be on. I'm not handing out candy Even though even though I did find some good stuff out there. So here's what I want you to do Head over to this website.

It's called halloween2020.org This website is amazing if you have littles or even if you don't This website is going to hook up your halloween and help you out. It's going to be a Halloween like we've never seen Because they're talking about making it safe and keeping it fun Now, how do they anticipate that they can do that? Well, first off they have a map where you can check the covid risk levels in your community Yes, they have it color coded you've got red orans yellow and green and there are actually some green areas on the map They're few and far between and you would think that they might all be clustered in one area, but they're not and Unfortunately, um, there's a whole heck of a lot of red places Let me tell you that but go to this website find where you live to see what color you are located in and that's going to tell you What your risk factors are for where you live but then on top of that going according to those risk factors You can actually pick activities that are in the red zone orange zone yellow zone and green zone as far as okay I found it where I live we're in a red zone What kind of things can I do or should I do should I consider doing with my family that we're in a red zone and it they have parties included And they're saying you know be safe if what they're saying basically is because you don't know the next person and what they've been doing and how they've been distancing themselves You don't want to necessarily be in such close proximity with those people But the people that you do know their whereabouts and what they've been doing feel free to still do something with them Still use your distancing as a safety precaution because you don't want it to be said that grandma You know expired because everybody just had to have a party on Halloween and poor little granny You know she she had to take one for the team. You don't want that to happen So but seriously check out this website once again is halloween20.org They have some great great great things in here and actually if you're a part of your homeowners association and a part of the Dervining body that is get some ideas from here and things that you can do as a neighborhood You can do parades and there's this one that I saw that was really funny.

They're talking about They're talking about basically having it such that you know You could be in your yard the kids can walk on the sidewalk and you have like a spot marked with maybe sidewalk chalk For the kids to stop there and you throw the candy to them six feet away I love that idea especially for the older trick or treaters because if you know anything about me You know that I'm not a fan of the big kids out there taking all the candy from the littles And so I would love to throw some candy at your teenagers have them come by my house Stop on the sidewalk and I will gladly peg them with some piz dispensers That was today's episode of tweet trends you have time now so don't procrastinate halloween's on saturday Election day is on tuesday make your plans today Don't wait till the day of to make a decision on something that you could have done days in advance Get with your friends and start making some fun plans for a happy fun and say halloween get your masks out be prepared Be ready have your hand sanitizer on hand, you know, you can still protect yourself and have fun There are so many other things in life where you are told that you need to use protection for but you can still have fun So let's just go ahead and extend it to the holiday, you know halloween christmas Thanksgiving Let's let's begin to be creative now so that we can have an idea on how we're going to celebrate these events Have a good time, but do it responsibly. All right So there you have it Make your plans if you have not voted yet, please, please, please, please, man Please sir go ahead out and do it now. Don't procrastinate. Don't wait till the 11th hour Do it now Have a great weekend and i'll see you back here on election day
