It's Harder This Year

Inspired by writing in memory of Norman Lawrie on the Thanksgiving following his passing. Harder This Year is a breathtaking Americana folk-pop eulogy — warm acoustic guitar, tender piano and cinematic strings cradle a deeply personal grief-and-gratitude reckoning. Emotionally devastating and radiantly hopeful; Brandi Carlile meets early Patty Griffin at their most achingly, beautifully human. Written by Dan Surman, produced with Suno AI.
