It's Not All "Joyful, Joyful" and "Jingle Bells" - Dr. Scot Bontrager

Thanksgiving, Christmas... It's the most wonderful time of the year! Right? While it certainly is for some, it most certainly is not for others. The holidays have a way of deepening whatever emotional state you are in; the joys are even more joyful, but the sorrows can reach new lows. For those experiencing any sort of grief, especially this time of the year, we want you to know that you are seen and you are loved. Dr. Scot Bontrager, a member of the Caring Team here at First United Methodist Church Richardson, feels a calling to share this message. He believes it is absolutely essential to acknowledge whatever emotional state you are bringing to the holidays, and be honest about it - with people you trust, and with God. This episode is for anyone who is walking in grief, or didn't know what to say to someone else confessing their own.
