It's not Christmas until.......

You all are great!  You texted your favorite traditions  Many around favorite foods which the smells, tastes, and family gathering are ways to bring us together.  Some of you reach out to help someone in need in very clever ways!  And those traditions that when you share around the family your love and appreciation for each other.Gosia Wheeler share traditions for her native Poland.  The oplatek wafer is a long tradtion in the Polish celebration of Christmas Eve. It is a thin wafer made from unleavened bread with pressed images of angels, the Blessed Mother, or Jesus. It is blessed by the priest on the first Sunday of Advent. It is an Eucharisitic represenation of Mass and reminder that Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus.  The father begins by breaking off a piece and handing the oplatek to his wife.
