It’s Not Personal

Morning Mantra: "Learning how to take nothing personally will change your life."

Most of what people do has nothing to do with you. 
Let their mood be theirs. 
Let their actions be theirs.
Let your life be yours. That’s how you take your power back.

Learning this is freedom. When you stop taking everything personally, you will claim your energy, your peace, and your power. What belongs to others no longer gets to live in you.

This has really helped me in dealing with one of my children. I know that they are unhappy in their life and they don’t treat me like they should because of it. But instead of taking it personally, I realize their anger is coming from a personal space and has nothing to do with what I have or haven't done. That separates me from their anger.

I used to try and own their unhappiness and fix their life.  Now I love and support them, but many times from afar. I remind myself that it is their journey to walk, and they can’t step on me in the process.

Take your power back- it has nothing to do with you.
