We sometimes try to comfort ourselves when going through hardships or injustices by telling ourselves it’s all part of God’s master plan. But sometimes this answer isn’t enough for us. It’s not enough to get us through when we fail to recognize the very real pain, trauma, and injustice we are experiencing. While it does say in Romans that in all situations God works for the good for those who love and who are aligned to God’s purposes, it did not say that all circumstances are good. Not every bad thing that happens to us is a blessing in disguise. It’s ok and even necessary to first claim and name our pain. Then we look to God to comfort us and show us the way through. I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope.
