This week, Brittney Ogike, CEO and Founder of BEAUTYBEEZ, a modern beauty supply store designed to service the styling and hair care needs for people of color shares how she’s disrupting the gate keeping in the beauty industry. Brittney details the legacy she is building alongside her family and the importance of acknowledging the privilege she was afforded when starting her company. She further shares how tenacity led to creating a better space for inclusive beauty. After feeling constantly frustrated shopping for beauty and realizing that the shopping experiences for women of color are largely inadequate, Brittney created BEAUTYBEEZ in 2019 to dedicate a space to the needs of Black and Brown individuals. Prioritizing brands and products created by people of color, BEAUTYBEEZ stocks over 300 brands on the shelves of its flagship North Hollywood store.
