It’s time to learn about Eliza Winston and slavery’s impact in Minnesota

from The Sheletta Show

Minnesota usually isn’t associated with slavery but there is plenty of history/impact this far north of the Mason-Dixon line. Alyssa Thiede from the Hennepin History Museum joins to talk about a new exhibit being featured that’s centered on Eliza Winston and her impact on Minnesota. The exhibit is called Winston: A Woman’s Fight for Freedom in Minnesota. Alyssa and Sheletta discuss slavery’s presence and impact in Minnesota and how important it is to tell stories like these in our current societal climate. https://hennepinhistory.org/avada_portfolio/winston/
