I've Been Thinking About Death More Lately

from The Renegade Writer's Mouthy Musings · host The Mouthy Renegade Writer

Death. Not my favorite topic. But it’s something I’ve been thinking more and more about lately. I worry about witnessing the death of freedom and democracy. It seems to be playing out in real time. Traitor Trump is bent on doing anything and everything he damn well pleases, whether it’s illegal or not.We fucked up in November’s election. Now we’re paying the consequences.I also see my father’s health and mental state declining. He’s still doing fairly well, but I worry about the signs that we see when we visit him weekly. This has been extremely difficult for my mother. She has health struggles of her own.It makes me think of my own mortality. At age 50, I’m in pretty solid health. Though I know I should be doing better in a few areas, I’d like to think I have more time left than I might. No guarantees, though, and the idea of that can be stressful.Today’s episode deals with these thoughts about death. I appreciate you letting me talk my way through it and venting a little. Our Mouthy Militia is the best group of people, and I very much appreciate you all having my back during difficult times. Thank you for lending me your ears. I’m going to wrap this up and get on the road for our weekend getaway. Mai and I can sure use a distraction, so we’ll make the most of it. I value and appreciate you all!If you enjoy my daily podcast episode, I’d love to have your support.
