iwCAR-T Sessions: emerging CARs & challenges in solid tumors

from VJOncology Podcast · host VJOncology

This year’s International Workshop on CAR-T (iwCAR-T) featured a whole day on the development of CAR T-cell therapies in solid tumors. CAR T-cell therapy has revolutionized the treatment of patients with hematological malignancies however, application in solid tumors has historically seen limited success.  In this discussion, Julian Molina, MD from the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, Daniel Abate-Daga, MD, Moffit Cancer Center, Tampa, FL, and Daniel Wang, MD, City of Hope, Duarte, CA, discuss emerging CAR approaches in solid tumors including gamma-delta T-cells and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) as well as strategies to improve responses, increase persistence and minimize toxicity. This roundtable discussion was filmed in Tampa, FL during the iwCAR-T 2022 meeting.
