(Said in a booming god-in-space voice, of course)  Say it with me… O-MI-CON. Satisfying isn’t it?  The latest… the greatest… the scariest of scary mutant virus variants with no symptoms other than the power to shut down whole economies and shut in whole populations just before Christmas, manifesting mainly among people who have been double jabbed, aka the “immunocompromised”.  And just in case you didn’t know – OMI is the abbreviation for Old myocardial infarction (MI), which by ECG criteria has been used as evidence for coronary heart disease. I shit you not.  Of course, it’s also cunningly close to the name of Omikron: The Nomad Soul Omicron, a 1999 video game by… ta-daaa… you guessed it… Microsoft! And it’s about demons pretending to be humans and harvesting their souls. If the player loses the game, their real-life soul is said to be lost.
