Jac Caglianone Heads to Derby with Dad Pitching | Kansas City Royals News

Jac Caglianone, the Royals’ first baseman and last year’s first-round draft pick, is headed to the Home Run Derby—just before the All-Star Game—after a scorching June and a standout season. What makes this moment even more special? His dad, Jeff, will be pitching to him. Caglianone’s confidence in his father’s calm, experienced arm is palpable, and their bond has been the foundation of his journey. With a .258 average and 14 homers this season, and a .309 batting average with a 1.036 OPS in June, Caglianone’s rise is undeniable. This father-son showdown in Philly promises to be one of the most heartwarming and electric moments of the summer.
