Jac Caglianone’s Hot Streak & Contract Window | Kansas City Royals News

Jac Caglianone is on fire this August, smashing over 400 hits with a .700+ slugging percentage and five homers—leading all of baseball offensively. His breakout season follows a strong June and despite a July cooldown and slow start, he’s proven he can handle MLB pitching while improving his defense and baserunning. The ideal time to lock him up was last offseason, but now’s the next best shot—with five years of team control left, a realistic extension could buy out two to three years of free agency, targeting a seven-year deal worth $105M–$175M, possibly extending to eight years and $200M if structured backloaded. While his future position is debated—he’s solid at first and capable in right field—it’s his bat that will drive the payday.
