As an author, archaeologist, and consultant, he’s built a storied career for himself based on a diverse range of interests. Working with organizations like the NBA, the New Yorker, and GQ, he’s known for bringing a high level of expertise to every project he takes on.Famous for refreshing vintage patterns with modern twists, Carlson’s talent for fashion has earned him favorable reviews and satisfied customers across the board. His company. and his coffee-table book of the same name, was inspired by his fascination with how fashion and pageantry were used to convey everything from unity to status. As a former professional coxswain, he understood that the athletic clothing he wore was more than just a way to stay warm out on the water. His academic work has been featured in Antiquity, the New England Classical Journal, and Foreign Policy.Jack Carlson has a degree in Classics and Chinese Studies at the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown and a doctorate in archeology from Brasenose College, Oxford. He’s deeply interested in how everything from colors to fabrics to symbols influence our perceptions. From modern streetwear to flags of the ancient world, he has devoted much of his life to defining an often elusive quality. It might be why Rowing Blazers has achieved critical and commercial praise, opening successful pop-up shops in fashion-forward cities like Paris, Tokyo, and Soho, New York.Carlson is a World Championships bronze medalist, a member of the Explorers Club, and a Henry Royal Regatta Champion.
