Jack Thompson: Back, After Eight Years
from The Kingstonian Podcast Hosted by Dave Cunningham
Send us Fan Mail Sequel Episode: Jack Thompson was a guest on The Kingstonian Podcast eight years ago, and it was time to check in and see what has changed — for Jack, for radio, and for the way we listen to music. We talk about retirement and whether it has lived up to expectations, the changing face of local radio, the personalities who have made Kingston broadcasting memorable, and Jack’s own years behind the microphone. We also head from the radio studio to the dance floor, revisiting Jack’s long career as a DJ — including the LPs, 45s and CDs that once made up his working collection. And then there’s the music itself. After more than 50 years surrounded by it, how does Jack listen today? Has his taste changed? Does he still miss radio and DJing? It’s a conversation about radio, music, memories, retirement and the next chapter — with someone who has spent a lifetime connected to all four.
