This is my entry for the Beat Collective Challenge of 12-02-2023 in which we are given two samples and have one month to incorporate them into an original track. The samples for this challenge were provided by 'Harmonica Tone'. - Sample 1 - blues harmonica - Sample 2 - coffee jar shaker Sample 1:- I used this to create the foghorn type sound in the intro and elsewhere in the track by EQ-ing it, adding lots of Reverb and Saturation and playing it through Ableton's Amp instrument. Then I chopped the harmonica into short phrases and used it for the second part of the intro and later in the track.in a call and response with the foghorn sound. Then I reversed the short harmonica phrase to get an almost human sounding refrain that comes in at 50 secs and elsewhere in the track. I warped the harmonica sound to fit the beat and played it in the breakdown with a chopped harmonica phrase and that plays through the second half of the track. Sample 2 - I warped the coffee shaker sound with EQ, Sustain & Release to get a good clean percussion sound which is present almost throughout the track.
