Greetings Hivers, stemming from my modest collection of Baseball Cards, I make this video. The Jackson Melián card connects us at this moment, one of those fascinating players who captivated us in childhood and could have gone further. In 1996, at just 16 years old, he was signed by the New York Yankees and received a bonus of $1,600,000 (one million six hundred thousand dollars), setting a record for a Venezuelan baseball player, as he was the first Venezuelan prospect to reach that amount, which at the time was a really hefty sum. He has had to face great battles, but his love for baseball is undeniable. He couldn't reach the highest level of organized baseball in the MLB, but he reached the closest category: Triple-A. Over his lifetime in the U.S. circuit, with his affiliated teams, he recorded 1,003 hits, 103 home runs, 499 RBIs, 517 runs scored, 338 walks, and 899 strikeouts in 3,905 at-bats, displaying a lifetime batting average of .257. In the Venezuelan league, he left a truly unforgettable mark. foto 1 Texto Foto 2 _ Texto Pic 3 Pic 4 _ Agradecido de que me hayan acompañado con su lectura hasta acá, me despido hasta la próxima oportunidad.
