Jackson Pines - Your Next Favorite Band

from Your Next Favorite Band · host Stereophilia.Studio

This week we are joined by Joe Makoviecki of Jackson Pines and learn...a LOT!!  In addition to band history, we learn about the different guitar playing styles of Appalachia, some folk music history of the Pine Barren of NJ, and even some blueberry history.  We also dive into their song writing process, and Joe even plays a song live during the interview of something not yet released!  And it sounds amazing.  Enjoy!Jackson Pines is a band from the Pine Barrens of NJ, that now call Philadelphia home. Consisting of singer-songwriter Joe Makoviecki and stand-up bassist James Black, Jackson Pines harks forward with melodies and rhythms from the past. Combining minimalistic acoustic arrangements and taking cues from the ethos of folk, blues, and indie rock, Jackson Pines tells stories of hard times, overflowing love, disappointment, and hope. In 2017 they released “Purgatory Road” produced by Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers, The Lumineers) and “Lost & Found EP” to critical acclaim. Their latest full-length album “Close To Home” was released July 2021, and features a full band accompanying Joe and James’ signature rhythms and melodies.Jackson PinesWebsite: https://www.jacksonpines.com/SpotifyYouTube ChannelBandcampArticle about "Failure" - https://www.jacksonpines.com/writing#nextfavband #livemusic #music #musicinterview #musician  #singer #guitar  #song  #newmusic  #explorepage  #instamusic #bestmusic #musicismylife #musicindustry #musiclife #songwriter #musiclover #musicfestivalText us your thoughts on this episode, and who should be OUR #NextFavBand...As always, our hope is to bring you "your next favorite band".  If you tuned in today because you already knew this musician - thank you very much!  We hope that you enjoyed it and would consider following us and subscribing so we can bring you your #nextfavband in the future.  And check out nextfavband.com for our entire catalog of interviews! If you have a recommendation on who you think OUR next favorite band should be, hit us up on social media (@nextfavband everywhere) or send us an email at [email protected] you to Carver Commodore, argonaut&wasp, and Blair Crimmins for allowing us to use their music in the show open and close.  It makes everything sound so much better!Let’s catch a live show together soon!#nextfavband #livemusic #music #musicinterview #musician  #singer  #guitar  #song  #newmusic  #explorepage  #instamusic #bestmusic #musicismylife #musicindustry #musiclife #songwriter #musiclover #musicfestival
